  28. No!!!!!  You do not need to worry:
  29. Escom has had a bad year - NOT due to Amiga Technologies, but because of a 
  30. drop in PC sales generally, stock write-offs & other bits of bad luck.

  32. Whatever the reasons pushing Escom to sell AT, the end result looks very 
  33. promising...  VIScorp are (mostly?) a bunch of Amiga 'fanatics' (apparently 
  34. even one who helped design the AmigaOS) who appear to have quite a bit of 
  35. financial muscle.  The buying of AT will obviously enable them to make their 
  36. set top boxes easier & more effectivly, but also..
  37.  
  38. VIScorp *will* let continue development of the Walker & PPC Amiga, as well as 
  39. let production of A1200s & A4000s to continue; because they WANT the Amiga to 
  40. continue.

  42. In short, VIScorp appears to be a MUCH better home for AT than Escom; the 
  43. Amiga was only really liked by the German Escom (and then perhaps just the top 
  44. people?).

  46. If you are still worried then take a look at Amiga Technologies home page (can 
  47. find a link to it from many Amiga pages), and look at every referance to 
  48. VIScorp, Walker & PowerAmiga/PPC :) .  Ofcourse, the best remedy for feeling 
  49. worried about the future of the Amiga is to go to the World Of Amiga - I guess 
  50. that the UK is a bit too far for that though... :(
